BARDITUS
Barditus is a group led by Stormvogel, performing medieval inspired world fusion in differing line up. Barditus started in the mid nineties with Tonny Holsbergen (nyckelharpa), Inge Siezenga (hurdy gurdy), Remi Balvers (bass), Karsten van Straten (drums) and Wieke Garcia (bagpipes, medieval instruments and vocals). For the project EEMSAGA (1997) the group was extended with German dancers Dagmar Holstrater and Anouk Soutardjo, and special artists like Semmy Prinsen, Oscar Prinsen, Leanne Lawalata, Klaas Kloosterhuis, Anne Boree and Arjen de Graaff a.o.. Nowadays, Barditus is a vehicle of Stormvogel, performing Songs from the Great Indo European Songbook in differing line up: solo, duo, trio, quartet or quintet. Stormvogel is accompanied by highly recognized improvising musicians from the Dutch progjazz and world fusion scene: all versatile, flexible and virtues instrumentalists with autonomous careers and differing background. Among them tenor saxophonist Leo Janssen (principal player of the Metropole Orkest), violinist Oene van Geel (Boy Edgar 2013) and multi-instrumentalist and singer Wieke Garcia. as a breathtaking “trobairitz”. Occasionally, Barditus is joined by section players out of Stormvogels’s Alter Ego Jazzbarock Consort: Arno van Nieuwenhuize (drums) or Onno Witte (drums), David de Marez Oyens (bass) or Marco van Os (bass).
