NAKED EARS ft JOE BOWIE
NAKED EARS idan Amsterdam based funk group, mixing afrobeat, rock, ska, reggae, jazz and odd meter fusion. With this group Stormvogel released an album called ‘Icebear’ (2014), featuring American funk legend Joe Bowie (Defunkt). The album contains the song King of Jerusalem written by Stormvogel. (Listen to King of Jerusalem on Soundcloud), The group, led by Jasper de Beer (bass), features Gil Lopez (guitar), Remko Smid Stalenhoef (sax), Efraim Trujillo (sax) and Kim Weemhoff (drums) and others. The group played at venues like Bethaniënklooster (Amsterdam), Duketown Jazz Festival (Den Bosch) and finally at Stormvogel’s Festival de Muzen in 2015 (Amersfoort Jazz), with American funk legend Joe Bowie and Nigerian singer Minyeshu Kifle.
